	Accommodation Description
Description :	If you are looking for a summer holiday or a short break in early or late season, our gîtes (similar to a self-catering apartments and cottages) are the ideal place to start a holiday of discovery and enjoyment in the beautiful Charente-Limousine. The total "en Campagne" property covers 1 hectare, and features a campsite, 6 gîtes (5 appartments in the main building and 1 separate house: La Marchadaine). A 7th gîte is due to open in mai which will be The main building of the complex was an old 17th century former farm house. Which was enlarged and renovated after 1970 into a holiday centre. We renovated the complex in 2004 into a gîte/apartment complex with restaurant, terrace and a campsite 4 apartements (Charente - Vienne - Glane and L'Issoire) lie on the second floor of the main building. Each appartment has a living area with sofa and 2 armchairs, tv, dvd. A kitchen with an electric cooker, extractor hood, fridge, coffemaker. Cupboards fully equipped. Everything for a comfortable stay. There is a dining area at which to enjoy your meal, but ofcourse you can also eat outside! La Charente has 3 lovely bedrooms each with 2 single beds. In La glane you find 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and in La Vienne and L'Issoire a double bed and a bunckbed. Studio La Couriere lies on the ground floor and has a double bed. Cottage La Marchadaine dates from 1630 and has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 6) Many authentic details, like the exposed traditional thick stone wall (60 cm!!) are preserved. 2 folding beds can be placed extra. Near to the gîtes you find gardens where you can sit and relax and where you can watch and listen to the many birds. You may also choose to join others at the terrace near the restaurant or at the swimmingpool. Dogs (and other pets) are more than welcome (provided they had all necessary vaccinations) For babies we have a special baby bath and changingmat. For small children we have a special children's toilet seat and a cot. At no extra charge For your relaxation and enjoyment there is a swimmingpool (unsupervised), boules pitch, a volleyball-court, table tennis and a sandpit. Inside, a selection of games and books is provided as wel as a good selection of information of the region. We have also installed WIFI. Regularly we organise table d'hôte (dinners for everyone to join) And every morning we offer freshly baked croissants and baguettes. We organise every week a pizza/bbq evenings. You may join in! The complex of EN CAMPAGNE with its 6 gites and campsite, lies in the little hamlet of Essubras (commune of Saint Christophe) which is in between confolens (Charente) and Saint Junien (Limousin). “En Campagne” is surrounded by very peaceful undulating wooded hills and fields It is not densely populated, there being just small villages and hamlets and no main roads On arrival at En Campagne you'll immediately feel stress melt away as you realx and enjoy the good life! Here you can enjoy your holiday in an unspoiled and unhurried way. The warm and mostly dry summers, with temperatures ranging between 25° C and 30°C make it ideal for campers. During the long and late Autumn (which sometimes lasts until Christmas!), temperatures can still reach 23°C. Autumn in fact, with its magnificent orange and red colours is perhaps the most beautiful time to visit the Charente. Winters are quite short, and snow is rare. The surrounding countryside is ideal for bird-watching, walking, cycling, fishing, painting, golfing etc. And there are plenty of museums and historic places of interest to visit. Such as Angouleme, Limoges, Confolens and Oradour sur Glane (rememberance village of the second world war.) You will always find a warm welcome at Camping & Gîtes “en Campagne”. If you are using a Route Planner (software) make sure you fill in the correct postal address for Essubras: France, Essubras , 16420 Saint Christophe , Charente (16) If your GPS does not know the hamlet Essubras, please use the correct postal code 1640 of Saint christophe (there are more than 57 Saint christoph's in France. So be sure you take the right one) Coördinates for your GPS: longitude 0.87679 / Latitude 46.014670 E 0°.52'.36.4" / N 46°.0' 52.8" Coming from Paris, follow the A3 and A86 direction Bordeaux). Then take the A20 towards Limoges/Toulouse. his is the Autoroute l’Occitaine. Take exit 23 and follow the N145 towards Bellac. After 30 kilometres you arrive at Bellac, and from here follow the signs for St. Junien. Turning left after Bellac onto the D675 will take you to St. Junien (take care, because this left turn comes directly after a sharp bend to the right). After 17 kilometres you reach reach a crossroads with the D9. Here you turn right towards Confolens. After a few kilometres this road changes into the D82. 8 kilometres further, you enter the village of Saint-Christophe.From here, follow the D330 signpost for Nouic. After 2 kilometres, you arrive in Essubras… then follow the signs for Camping & Gîtes "en Campagne" We wish you a safe and pleasant trip to Essubras… because once here, you'll never forget it
