Morzine is in the Porte Du Soleil ski area only a short transfer from Geneva airport. There are 650kms of slopes and you can ski from this traditional french resort over the border into Switzerland and back again.
You can ski or board from 2 points in Morzine - take the Pleney lift up and ski through the trees on the Pleney/Nyon side and over to Les Gets or you can take the Supermorzine lift or Prodains cable car up to Avoriaz and ski over into Switzerland. The full area pass covers 12 different resorts, 195 lifts and 266 pistes.
There are a number of other activities available - snowshoeing, paragliding, quad biking, ice diving, night sledging, skidoos, ice climbing, hot air ballooning and helicopter trips and heli skiing can all be arranged. For families there's an ice rink and horse and cart rides and the resort has the french stamp of approval with it's Famille Plus label.
The resort has all the amenities you could need/expect from a town - supermarket, cash points, restaurants, bars etc; and of course ski shops, ski schools and the tourist office |
