	Accommodation Description
Description :	This second floor stylish apartment is an ideal base for a holiday in the green, culturally-rich heart of Italy and perflectly placed for day trips to Florence, Arezzo and Siena. It’s three minutes walk from the centre of Sansepolcro with its wonderful cafes, shops and restaurants. Free parking just outside the house, or private parking on request. A car is not necessary as you can use public transport to most places, and the train station is next to the house so trips to Umbria available from there. Wifi internet throughout. The apartment was recently renovated and can accommodate 4/5 people and costs are scaled according to number of people renting the property. Perfect for two couples as there are two bathrooms. Ideal for a small family. There are 30 stairs from main entrance to apartment entrance, so not suitable for those with mobility problems. It is composed of - a double bedroom with double bed, spacious wardrobe, plasma tv and en-suite bathroom with large shower. - double bedroom which has two single beds , double wardrobe, bookcase (possibility of third bed or cot for a child). - main bathroom with bath tub, large washbasin and bidet. - living room with flat screen tv, big sofa, fireplace, books and dvds. Top quality parquet, heigh ceilings and wooden beams, give the apartment a pleasant historical charm. Thick walls means the apartment stays cool in summer - fans available. - fully equipped kitchen with seating for 4/5, oven, washing machine(no dryer), Amercan coffee maker, toaster. Sansepolcro, located right on the border with Umbria, is a beautifully preserved walled Tuscan town. It is most famous as the birthplace of the painter Piero della Francesca (1416-1492) and the town's impressive Museo Civico houses - among many other works of art - his masterpiece, La Resurrezione. This painting alone makes Sansepolcro worth a visit, but the town itself will not disappoint. Within its ancient walls, the old town maintains a medieval structure but its architecture is enriched by Renaissance and Baroque elements which stand shoulder to shoulder along the elegant main 'corso'. Architectural highlights include the Romanesque cathedral and Palazzo della Laudi, which overlook the handsome main square. Sansepolcro is a prosperous and cultured town, a fact reflected in the quality of the shops that line the corso and in the high standard of the cuisine in the many excellent local restaurants, many of which we can advise you on! Like many small Italian towns, there are numerous cultural and gastronomic festivals throughout the year. The most famous in Sansepolcro is the Palio della Balestra (second Sunday of September) a crossbow tournament in September, in which local citizens take dressing up in Renaissance costumes - fastidiously copied from Piero della Francesca paintings...not be missed . In addition to sightseeing in Sansepolcro and beyond, the town's verdant position in the Tiber River valley just below the Appenine mountains makes it a popular base for all kinds of outdoor activity holidays, such as walking, hiking, cycling, mountain-biking, canoeing and fishing - both activities possible in/on the Tiber or the Montedoglio Lake. Fly fishing permits can be arranged and a guide is also possible. A truly perfect staring point from which to discover marvellous towns and surrounding countryside. Nearby trips within the hour to places like Cortona, Assisi, Arezzo, Anghiari, Perugia, Gubbio and about 1 hour and a half to Florence, Siena, Montepluciano, San Gimignano, the adriatic coast, Lake Trasimeno (Rome 2.30 hours).
