We will offer our traditional Afrikaans and German farm meals served “family style”.... there's always more than enough for "second helpings!" And for those with discriminating appetites, Indian and Halal cuisine is available at a modest premium. Vegetarians should advise the management in advance. Daily rates for smaller parties are also available. A bank transfer of 50% will be required to CONFIRM your extended-stay booking. The balance is to be paid upon arrival by cash or traveler's cheques. OMAHA does not accept credit cards or personal checks. Beverages & VAT are excluded from all tariffs. | Description : | Come and experience the private and tranquil setting of OMAHA GUEST FARM & ESTATE situated at the base of Mt Etjo, NAMIBIA! For the first time, the 10,000 acre OMAHA Estate is being offered for extended stays, weddings, other special or private occasions, and as a “holiday home". Minimum stay is a week, inclusive of three double rooms sleeping 6+ in the main lodge. Only one party at a time will be permitted to reside during these special bookings. OMAHA is conveniently located 2 hours NW of Windhoek en route to a number of Namibia's primary tourism destinations: Etosha and Waterberg National Parks, Damaraland, Bushmanland, Kavango Region and the Caprivi Strip. Located nearby are the Erindi Game Lodge, Omaruru Game Lodge, Mt Etjo Safari Lodge, Dinosaur Tracks, Okonjima Lodge/Africat Foundation, and Cheetah Conservation Fund. “Omaha” in the Herero language means "the place where one can live". Mt Etjo is a geologically unique feature of the Namibian landscape dating to the time of Gondwanaland, 500 million years ago. The mountain is a narrow plateau 16 km long with a maximum width of 3 km, standing 2086 m above sea level at its highest point, and capped with a layer of hard sandstone measuring up to 70 meters deep. The mountain has a diverse flora and fauna, including protected species such as Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, Damara dik-dik, klipspringer, and leopard. A very diverse bird fauna with over 250 known species are seasonally resident at OMAHA. One may enjoy the beauty of the landscaped garden, library, TV-lounge and swimming pool at the lodge, or bird watching and wildlife while on walks.
