	Accommodation Description
Description :	We would love to welcome you to Oak Cottage, which is nestled under a large Oak Tree in the grounds of Quinta das Palmeiras. If you enjoy relaxed family holidays amidst beautiful hills and stunning scenery; or if you like an adventure holiday, climbing & canoeing, horse riding, mountain biking or quad biking; or just walking through the hills or visiting historic sites and buildings and picnics by the river. Whatever it is, Central Portugal is the place to do it and Quinta das Palmeiras is your ideal base. We are 20 minutes from Tomar, 1 hour to Coimbra, 1 hr 20min to Lisbon Airport and 2 hr 15 min to Porto Airport. Car hire is recommended for any visitot to this region, so you can explore what Central Portugal has to offer. The cottage is set in the gardens of the owners’ accommodation, which extends to 2/3 acre and includes a stunning 15m x 6m pool plus an attached children’s pool. There are different areas of the pool in shade throughout the day. The garden has a BBQ, Children’s play area and many fruit trees so there is usually something to pick whatever time of the year you visit. The cottage is detached from the house and fully self contained, whilst being close if any assistance is required. Ample parking is available within the grounds. The cottage has three bedrooms; a double bedroom, with wardrobe and bedside tables and space for a cot; a twin room with two single beds, hanging space and dressing table with drawers; and the third has bunk beds, wardrobe and drawers. There is also a double sofa bed in the lounge for extra guests or overnight visitors. There are two separate bathrooms, one with bath/shower and the other a wet room with shower. The main living area in the cottage is a large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge with a log-burning salamander fire, English Satellite TV and DVD player. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with everything you might need during your stay, including microwave and washer/dryer. The dining area and lounge area comfortably accommodate 8 people. Guests have full use of the garden, BBQ, pool and patio furniture. The garden is gated and fully enclosed. Electric is included, and firewood in the winter and broadband wireless access is available. The property is in a small village, which has a well stocked mini-market and café bar a short walk away. There are many market towns within 5-10 minutes drive, with cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, medical centre and supermarkets, so everything is close. There are weekly markets in all the main towns and many Festas (festivals) throughout the year. We offer long term lets and holiday breaks, minimum 2 nights.
