Maximum occupancy: 4 people 2 bedrooms en suite with twin beds and direct access to the terrace with a spectacular view through the swimming pool area pine trees forest and sea. Living room with fireplace and TV. Fitted kitchen with a four hub gas stove, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and a kettle. 3 bathrooms, two with shower and one with a bathtub. Small garden. Small swimming pool (6m x 3m) Semi detached townhouse located at 800m from the beach “Praia do Ancão” in the Algarve, inserted on the tourist resort “Vale do Garrão”, lying between Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago, near Almancil and surrounded by 10 different golf courses, just at 20km West from Faro airport. Praia do Ancão it´s the most isolated beach, it lies to the very West of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The main scenario is ruled by an extensive strip of sand dunes, backed by a vast humid area with marsh characteristics. The involve pinewoods and the low ruby-colored cliffs complete the amazing panorama. This is the perfect spot for long relaxing walks and it offers unique conditions to enjoy the richness of the fauna and the flora. The beach area has ample spaces and many sites ideal for more privacy, shades may be rented and there are also water sports. Excellent tourist facilities with high-quality bars and restaurants are available and the beach may be reached via wooden walkways. Although Vale do Garrao sells itself as a lazy rural retreat, there’s no shortage of ways to keep you occupied through those long summer days. With over 60km of protected wetlands on the doorstep there are endless opportunities for exploring the pine forests, sandbanks and dunes and maybe spotting egrets, cranes and flamingos on the mudflats. It is well worth taking a boat trip to explore these fenlands and barrier islands, learn about the importance of this delicate ecosystem and see the banks where clams and oysters are harvested. If you prefer to spend your time on solid ground, you may prefer to explore the surrounding countryside on horseback; British run Pinetrees Riding School is close by and can guide you through the most picturesque routes around the valleys, lakes and golden dunes. If you’re feeling more energetic, you might choose to try your hand at the local watersports on offer, which include waterskiing and windsurfing. And with lifeguards on duty along this stretch of coastline throughout the summer months, you’ll always be in safe hands.
