Description :	GALASHIELS LODGE VILLAGE The quaint Victorian village of Stanford, nestled on the banks of the Klein River, is one of the unspoilt gems of the Overberg. There is always something different to be found around every corner : whether you explore the village on foot or bicycle, or whether you enjoy a trip down the river where over 120 bird species await your discovery. The magnificent mountainous surround is conducive to the creativity of many of the craftspeople on and around Stanford. To add value to the relaxing “Stanford experience” we offer mountain, riverine and waterfall hiking in the surrounding area’s as well as horse riding, cycling, canoeing and packed picnic hampers for whale watching. We are 20 kms drive from Hermanus the whale watching mecca and 20km drive from DeKelders, an undiscoved whale watching gem. Guests can take a quick drive to view these magnificent creatures and then escape the frantic pace of Hermanus to the quite and calm that Stanford offers - a true country escape destination for the more discerning traveller. MAIN LOUNGE Relax and enjoy a drink in front of the fire and savour the tranquility of Galshiels Lodge’s beautifully appointed lounge. BEDROOMS Each of the en suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated to Jill’s high standards. She has used her flair as an Interior Decorator to satisfy the most discerning visitor. FUNCTIONS Small weddings and such functions are our specialty, with the splendid gardens or the Interior of the house to choose from as a venue. We do traditional Scottish Pub suppers in the winter as well as tea’s in the gardens and lunches (pre arranged FACILITIES A fully licensed pub with a fantastic range of single malts as Brian is a true Scot, the lodge wouldn’t be complete without a good malt collection Gardens for the guests to really enjoy the beauty of the surroundings Veranda’s to enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine of. MEALS Breakfasts are incl in the B&B rates (not for the self catering unit). The breakfasts incl homemade bread, pasteries, full English course, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, a variety of twining teas and freshly ground coffee Small lunches and dinners can be arranged if booked the day before. Tea’s and coffee station available throughout the day DIRECTIONS Stanford is 150km from Cape Town and 24km outside of Hermanus. From Cape Town: Take the N2 to Bot River Turn off onto the R43 to Hermanus Drive through Hermanus until you reach Stanford Turn right into the Town (Queen Victoria St) At the first stop street turn right into Longmark Street Cross over Du Toit Street Turn Right into the second street which is King Street. We are on the corner of King and Longmark Street
