Description :	Nestling against the Hermanus Mountain with panoramic views over Walker Bay, this bright comtemporaty guesthouse is situated an hour and twenty minutes from Cape Town in the heart of the Overberg. Elegantly furnished multi-levelled indoor spaces are complemented by indigenous water-featured landscaped gardens. Hermanus, with its pristine beaches and majestic mountains, offers some of the best land-based whale viewing in the world and caters for a vaiety of outdoor activities – from fynbos hikes to shark-cage diving. Selkirk House was designed and custom built with luxury, comfort and tranquillity in mind. The elegant and spacious lower lounge, with a fireplace for winter evenings, leads onto the pool deck with its Karoo stone braai area. On the sea side a set of sliding doors leads to a covered terrace where guests can relax and enjoy the views. The upper lounge has a fully stocked bar and a large plasma screen TV, perfect for sports enthusiasts. The sea view patio is furnished with cocktail tables and chairs and comfortable loungers. From the bar lounge a set of stairs leads to the rooftop deck with breathtaking all-round views. On the mountain side of the house there is a library with a PC equipped with all basic programmes as well as internet access. The gently cascading waterfalls on the library patio make it a peaceful place to relax with a book or magazine from our shelves. Each spacious suite offers total privacy and has its own sea or mountain view terrace. The bathrooms each have a bath, a double volume shower, twin hand basins and heated towel rails. The fully automated rooms are equipped with a stocked mini bar fridge and tea and coffee tray. There is an international adaptor plug, a digital mini safe and a hairdryer. The flatscreen TV gives access to selected DSTV channels, M-Net, SABC 1, 2, 3 and eTV. Wireless internet is available at all times. A delicious full English breakfast is served in the dining room or on the pool deck. Selkirk House has a state-of-the-art BBQ located on the pool deck. We will gladly provide everything needed for an authentic South African barbecue. Restaurant bookings will be made for you should you wish to dine out. We will gladly pack you a delicious picnic lunch for a day out in the Overberg. Drinks and beverages are available throughout the day. • Check-in is after 14h00 and check-out before 11h00. • We regret that we cannot accommodate children between the ages of 1 and 11 years. • Laundry services are available and dry cleaning by arrangement. • The management will gladly arrange for a qualified beauty therapist to tend to you in the comfort of your own suite. • Selkirk House is fully secure and monitored by a reputable security company.
